The 2026 edition of the Debrecen Flower Carnival will feature 1,200 Hungarian dancers, 400 international carnival performers, and approximately 500,000 fresh flowers. This unique event, unparalleled in Europe, takes place in the Great Forest (Nagyerdő) of Debrecen, where visitors are welcomed with a true festival atmosphere.
The Debrecen Flower Carnival was first held in 1966 and has since become a traditional event of the city. The most spectacular highlight is the carnival parade, reminiscent of the vibrant atmosphere of Brazilian festivals, held every year on August 20. During the carnival, the stunning floral compositions are accompanied through the streets of Debrecen by Hungarian dancers and traditional folk groups.
